Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP), sponsored by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, is scheduled for June 6 – August 12, 2016. Undergraduate students are eligible to participate in this program. Last year, 28 outstanding applicants were accepted for the program and were placed in laboratories within various basic science and School of Medicine departments. We emphasize the recruitment of highly qualified students not only for participation in summer research programs, but for enrollment in graduate programs at UTMB as well. As in past years, the program will focus on the student’s participation in an ongoing research project with a selected faculty mentor for 10 weeks during the summer. At the end of the program, student participants will display the results of their research at a poster session. Students will participate in special seminars and workshops along with social events.
